Ever since he was little, Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see the spirits of the dead, so when a teenage girl materializes through his bedroom wall, this should be no call for alarm. Rukia Kuchiki is a shinigami, a member of the mysterious Soul Society that is charged with capturing rogue ghosts, and is hot on the trail of an evil spirit. But in the ensuing confrontation, Ichigo absorbs Rukia’s powers, giving him the ability to not only see the undead, but to fight them as well. Now this 15-year-old high school student begins a brand new vocation: hyperkinetic, all-purpose ghost-busting. With enough attitude to make a grown ghost blush, Ichigo and crew are taking on the after-life one ghoulie at time.

Tite Kubo, Bleach: A Star and a Stray Dog (ViZ, 2001)
The crew are still scattered throughout the soul reaper city. Uryu and Orihime are fighting the younger brother of the gatekeeper, while Ichigo and Ganju, along with a new friend they picked up along the way, run into one of the assistant captains. And where are Chad and Mr. Y? Kubo, though, never lets the action get in the way of his characters, which is what makes Bleach so special, even this far down the line. A fantastic series. ****
5 Stars Top of the mountain.
The pinnacle of action. This series does action and plot together so well I don’t know if I can go back to reading anything else. Naruto has to take a backseat to this series. Ichigo versus Ikkaku. Uryu shows what a Quincy is capable of. And finally Ichigo and Renji have it out. The battle is amazing and ends with a huge cliffhanger.
This volume pushes the series to a new level, the top of the mountain.
Highly recommended.
4 Stars Ichigo vs Renji
Team Ichigo has been separted while trying to enter the Seireitei to save Rukia from execution. She is being detained in the white tower Senzaikyu, with the Soul Reapers on full alert of Team Ichigo’s presence.
With the team separted, they have to rely on their new skills to survive the Soul Reapers attacks. The group has been divided into Ichigo and Ganju (assisted by an unlikely ally), Orihime and Uryu, Chad, and the Cat (forgot the name).
Each of the members have grown much stronger and it shows. Especially with Ichigo and Uryu. Uryu has become a much more mature, interesting, and stronger character. Orihime is much stronger as well, but she gets overshadowed by Uryu. Chad only had a brief appearance, but it’s made obvious that he has grown stronger too.
Ichigo shows just how tough he is now, with the rematch between Renji and himself. His strength seems to grow exponentially with each volume and he needs every bit of it against Renji. Ichigo learns very quickly and has become a much better tactian as well.
A must read for the Bleach fan.

Any fan of bleach will enjoy continuing the series with this issue, it just keeps getting better.

Hot-tempered 15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki, the hero of the popular fantasy-adventure Bleach, has the unsettling ability to see spirits who are unable to rest in peace. His sixth sense leads him to Rukia, a Soul Reaper who destroys Hollows (soul-devouring monsters) and ensures the deceased find repose with the Soul Society. When she’s injured in battle, Rukia transfers her sword and much of her power to Ichigo, whose spiritual energy makes him a formidable substitute Soul Reaper. But the orange-haired teenager isn’t sure he wants the job: too many risks and moral dilemmas.

this book was very good quality and i was very satisfied with it. the story followed the first book, and i definitely want more.
5 Stars Bleach, vol.1-3
Bleach, Volume 1 Bought these for my granddaughter for Christmas. Actually they were a fill in gift. To my surprise we found her crouched in a corner reading the first volume with all her other gifts sitting beside her untouched. She loves these books. Shes is 13 years old and these are now her favorite. Will be purchasing the next few in the series.
5 Stars BLEACH: Wow, what an Awsome Manga
I really loved volume 2, in volume 2 they reveal more about chad and add two new characters, one named Kon which is a pretty funny guy and the other named Hat and Clogs, which I guess you could say he’s a soul reaper seller. (and volume 2 as a lot of action which I loved)

Tite Kubo, Bleach: Goodbye Parakeet, Goodnight My Sister (Viz, 2001)
Strawberry and Rukia are back in Goodbye Parakeet, Goodnight My Sister. Strawberry’s school chum Chad stumbles into Strawberry’s father’s clinic sporting a mysterious scar on his back, then just as mysteriously disappears. Strawberry and Rukia suspect that Chad’s being tailed by a Hollow, an evil spirit tied to the human world until it’s dispatched by a soul reaper. But is this Hollow too much for Strawberry to handle alone?
For the second volume, Kubo can do less introducing of characters and more character-building. As the cover of the first one suggested he’d be concentrating on Strawberry, this one suggests he’ll concentrate on Rukia, and we are not disappointed. She’s quite the charmer, she is, and adding Chad to the mix pretty much guarantees some fireworks between Strawberry and Chad down the line. This is very good stuff. Recommended. *** ?
5 Stars I like where this is going……
I just started reading Bleach 3 days ago, and I finished this one today. I have never read manga before, but I love Bleach so much that I will be trying some others, too. This 2nd addition in the series is very exciting and leaves you satisfied. The cliffhanger wasn’t as good as the first, but I will still be checking out 3 and up!
