Finding Nemo The Essential Guide

Disney/Pixar Studios, the vanguard film production company responsible for the revolution in computer generated animation, brings us its latest creation in Finding Nemo. This underwater adventure stars a shy clownfish on a mission to save his son, Nemo, who has been taken from their home in the coral reef.

DK and Pixar have teamed up again to bring animation fans an essential visual guide to the film, detailing the creative process behind the scenes and showing readers everything they might want to know about the characters, story, imagery, and magic of the next hit family film from the creators of Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and A Bug’s Life.

5 Stars . . .
I bought this book expecting one of those ‘Making of . . .’ creations, but ended up being pretty disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, this guide is very informative, amusing and candy for the eyes . . . but for children. Or, for adults with inner children. Seeing as I’m a cynical teenager, it didn’t do much for me :)

5 Stars Love this book………
This book is really cool and it gave me a lot of information on Finding Nemo that I didn’t know about before.
But I did see a couple of errors in the book.
But the only errors were length and stuff like that….so it really doesn’t matter that much.
Besides that the book gives you information on just about everyone in the movie and information on the type of fish that the characters are, like I never knew that Dory and Bubbles were related, let me tell you how:
Dory is a Regal Tang.
Bubbles is a Yellow Tang. cool huh….?
Anyway, its a good book to read when you’re bored or while you’re watching the movie.
This book is auesome.
sincerly,
Kenny (jellyman)

4 Stars Great book and fun too!
If you want to learn even more about the ocean — check out Captain Jon Explores the Ocean on DVD – also available on Amazon.

5 Stars Excitement Under the Sea
This was the neatest Finding Nemo book! It has all you need to know about the little secret things about Finding Nemo! In fact, it’s my favorite book! Finding Nemo is my favorite movie, and now I have a favorite book to match it! I especially like how even the moonfish and jellyfish get their own page full of information. The tank gang’s bios were very interesting, as were overlooking of the dentist’s office. Thank you Nemo!

5 Stars It is so awesome!!!!
I have been researching Finding Nemo for three months now and of all the stuff I might get besides two books ( including this one)and a CD, this is probably the most awesome. When I first read it, I knew everyting and I have read it five times. I have memorized this awesome book and I highly reccomend it for all those fans out there!(But none as dedicated as me.)Also, I reccomend Don’t Invite A Shark to Dinner and Other Lessons from the Sea. It, too, is an awesome book and I have memorized that as well. Hi, Erin Wilser!!!

5 Stars Great book!
Even though this book is meant for kids, I bought it anyway. I’m 16 and I really want to be an animator when I’m older, and surprisingly this book really helped me learn to draw all the Toy Story 1 & 2 characters on my own. The characters are computer-animated in the movie, but this book helps you bring them alive on paper, too. I have all the books in this series and I LOVE them all, they seriously helped my cartooning skills & they’re fun to use as well!

Walt Disneys Donald Duck finds Pirate Gold Gladstone Giant Album Comic Series No 1 Gladstone Giant Comic Album Special 1

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Historic but dissapointing first…
While this Duck book is significant as not only the first ‘original’ Donald Duck comic-book but also as the first Duck work by Carl Barks (he did not write it and drew only part of it) it is a dissapointing read, especially when compared with the far better Donald Duck or Uncle Scrooge books which followed. Adapted from an unproduced Disney animated film, the pacing is slow and the story, unexciting and uninvolving. I found it very tedious to get through. Better to pick this one up after you’ve read the good stuff (especially try the Uncle Scrooge story “Back to the Klondike” to see what I mean.)

5 Stars Get it while you can!
“Reading level: Baby-Preschool”!? Try “Preschool-Deathbed.” Most people might smirk at the idea of “Disney Comics,” but legendary cartoonist Carl Barks imbued Donald and Uncle Scrooge with life, warmth, energy, and adventure. This is great reading for even the most cynical (who will delight in the fact that Barks got away with giving substance to Disney’s cookie-cutter characters for decades). But Gemstone’s contract with Disney has expired, and negotiations are under way. Barks has been getting a lot of attention in recent years (particularly since his death at the age of 99 last year), and Disney may decide to bring him “back into the fold.” But they would never treat the work with the respect with which Gemstone has, and which it deserves. My recommendation: snatch up anything you can find with Carl Bark’s name on it before it goes out of print (which might be very soon). Enjoy it yourself, and save it for your children (or nieces and nephews) and grandchildren (or grandnieces and grandnephews). Just don’t let the little whipper-snappers damage the merchandise!

Disney Learning Our World Disney Learning

Culture is an integral part of every society. From the savannahs of Africa and the rain forests of Latin America to bustling Asian cities and small European towns, people practice unique rituals, prepare their foods and build their homes in traditional ways, speak their own languages and create different types of art and music. This book introduces children to the world through the experiences of children just like them who may live in a very different way.

4 Stars Great pictures for little ones – - learning gem for older kids (and adults)!
This book is a book we all like to look through — from our 2-year-old all the way up to my husband and I! I love the layout, colorful images, and fun Disney characters studded throughout. Great addition to our bookshelf!

5 Stars We love this book!
Our World was clearly written for the elementary-school set, but my preschool aged daughter loves it! The photographs of children, famous places, and daily life around the world are beautiful. The book is divided into continents, with several countries from each continent further explored. Topics covered include food, maps, schools, favorite past-times, pets, and simple (political) maps of the continents. I find the sprinkling of Disney characters throughout the book to be distracting and sometimes confusing, but it doesn’t seem to bother my daughter. I would say this book is well worth the money!

4 Stars Great Geography/Culture Resource
With its stunning photography and colorful layout, this book is sure to capture your child’s imagination. Far from being a boring book of facts, it teaches about distant lands from the child’s perspective. Included are native games, foods, religion, typical school subjects, & more. Unfortunately, like most books of this nature, the book has an obvious P.C. slant. There are large sections dedicated to how humans are destroying the world. Careful planning was also utilized to ensure that every ethnic background was given equal footing, regardless of their actual contribution to society. With a little editing and explanation, this can be a wonderful tool for sparking the interest in your children for other cultures.
